Second day we're leaving Funchal by bus at 11:30 to Porto da Cruz (cca 3Eu/person) for trek along cliffs of the north coast. We "somehow" forgot to get out of bus, so driver dropped us on opposite slope after Porto. Additional walk is rewarded by the "postcard" view.
On the main square we're taking water from pipe and buying some food. Walk starting at square through cobbled bridge climbing up and than curved in rock declining to the next valley. After bridge we're walking left uphill and uphill.. It is a bit exhausting. But view is manificant! And the colours! Note: These photos are without any changes in the computer. I used just polarisation filter during shooting.
Finaly we're leaving last houses. Nice refreshment are grapes. The wineyards are everywhere. The views are better and better ... It reminds me China, isn't it?
The road getting narrow to convert to forest path penetrating slopes. We're crossing few small lush valleys.
There are fantastic views of rocky cliffs.
One part of walk is a little bit exposed while crossing rock wall.
Coastal walk finishes at Boca do Risco with small cave. We're following path downhill through wooded slopes...
... and grassy terasse fileds to Ribeira Seca. Here it reminds me Nepal...
Beer in the bar and at 5 p.m. direct bus to Funchal.
