DAY 5
Early morning we took bus to Hania and begins
a second part of our visit in Crete. We rent a car (Opel Corsa) for three days to visit the rest
of the interesting places which are more far. First we went to Komar - the largest inner lake in
Crete. Nothing special but nice.

Next visited place was fortress Bonaparte. In that case it was a flop. We climbed through
thorn creeks and accross fences to see only a few stones... Next stop was Knossos. The famous
ruins of the palace Minoyean(?) civilization. It is the oldest european civilization dated
2000 b.c. Some palaces were reconstructed. Unfortunatelly concrete cellings of the palaces
doesnt look as a few thousand years old buildings.

After sightseeing we are approaching mountains again. We camp on 1200 metres high plateau
in Ida mountains. Tomorrow we are planning to climb up to the highest mountain of the Crete.
